This program aims to design, build and verify a Mobile Agents-based IP network management architecture. The use of mobile agents enables a flexible way of managing network resources with the ultimate goal of quality assurance for demanding services such as Voice over IP and Real Time Videoconference over Internet networks. (2000-2002), https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/IST-1999-10921

IST 1999-10299 ANDROID (Active Network Distributed Open Infrastructure Development). This program is based on the idea of active networks for creating Internet services. Uses techniques exclusively at the application layer (application layer) with the result that the use of programmable material (hardware) is not necessary. (2000-2002), https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/IST-1999-10299

IST 1999-10561 FAIN (Future Active IP Networks). This project aimed to design, build and verify an architecture for dynamic service creation with guaranteed quality of Internet services. The architecture is based on the idea of active networks, according to which users can dynamically program network components (routers) by sending special packets to them. (2000-2003), https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/IST-1999-10561

Project “DIOSKOURI” within the framework of the program “Human Networks” of the GSRT through the KTE of Thessaly. Project “ARCHIMEDES” support of research teams at the TEI of Larissa funded by EPEAEK II entitled “RESOURCE MANAGEMENT TECHNIQUES FOR INCREASING THE CAPACITY OF MOBILE NETWORKS. (01/05/04 – 31/12/07)

WINNER/FP6-IST. The key objective of the WINNER project is to develop a totally new concept in radio access. This is built on the recognition that developing disparate systems for different purposes (cellular, WLAN, short-range access etc.) will no longer be sufficient in the future coverged Wireless World. This concept will be realised in the ubiquitous radio system concept. The vision of a ubiquitous radio system concept is providing wireless access for a wide range of services and applications across all environments, from short-range to wide-area, with one single adaptive system concept for all envisaged radio environments. Interconnected Smart Cities for Greece 2.0

www.smartcitiesecosystem.gr

This flagship action aims to develop a universal platform for the management of Smart Cities and create a central point of reference for Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystems. These ecosystems stem from research and development actions of some of the country’s largest academic and research institutions in collaboration with its largest Municipalities, and compose the innovation map of Greece in the field of Smart Cities. The aim of this flagship action is to develop an interoperability platform, implemented and distributed at multiple levels, which will bring together technologies and services derived from all the existing vertical implementations that are already in operation in the largest cities of Greece that have already manifested the their interest, or are going to do so, during the execution of the project. The platform, through the multitude of unified services provided that will allow the direct extraction of data from heterogeneous systems, as well as the visualization of all information, will now make possible the development of new innovative services and value-added products within the framework of the Greece 2.0 program and specifically in the sector of Smart Cities.

AI Assisted V2X time cRitical coMmunicatiOns for enhanced Road Safety, (AI ARMORS)

We propose to set-up and carry out experiments related to V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything) communications for road safety use case by enabling the involved stakeholders in road traffic environments to communicate and synchronize so as to avoid accidents or manage them in the best possible way using on site information from sensors and cameras. AI/ML techniques will be employed for a) false alarm avoidance, b) categorization of the importance of the situation and c) prediction of the real time video transfers’ QoS.
