RACE 2 2016 (STRATOSPHERIC): The main purpose of this program was to develop devices for evaluating and testing the capabilities of the String Mode idea when applied as a way to transfer information to backbone ATM networks. ACTS DOLMEN AC036 (Service Machine Development for an Open Long-term Mobile and Fixed Network Environment). Its aim was to develop, validate and promote an open service architecture for the provision of fixed and mobile telephony communication services, from heterogeneous and multi-provider telecommunication networks. ACTS AC031 COBUCO (Cordless Business Communication System). The main goal was to deliver a fully functional design example for migration from the 2nd generation system to the 3rd generation mobile communications. ACTS AC011 AMUSE (Advanced Multimedia Services for Residential Users). The aim of the project was to conduct experiments to provide interactive multimedia and real-time distribution services to home users on a large scale. ACTS AC206 ABS, (Architecture for Information Brokerage Service). In this program, an open distributed web-based architecture was designed, built and verified to accurately find and provide real-time information with an emphasis on E-Commerce applications. ACTS AC316 (ABROSE, Agent Based Brokerage Services in Electronic Commerce). This program was designed, built, and verified for an Intelligent Mobile Agents architecture to easily and efficiently find online information for e-commerce applications. The innovation introduced by this approach was the specialization of mobile agents in order to effectively collect information related to the purpose for which they were created. HARP IST-1999-10923 (Harmonization for the security of web technologies and applications). This project was supportive of the harmonization of technologies and tools for Web security and the systems involved in order to secure businesses and citizens in the information society. IST 1999-10130 MANTRIP (Management, Testing and Reconfiguration of IP Based Networks Using Mobile Software Agents). This program aims to design, build and verify a Mobile Agents-based IP network management architecture. The use of mobile agents enables a flexible way of managing network resources with the ultimate goal of quality assurance for demanding services such as Voice over IP and Real Time Videoconference over Internet networks. IST 1999-10299 ANDROID (Active Network Distributed Open Infrastructure Development). This program is based on the idea of ​​active networks for creating Internet services. Uses techniques exclusively at the application layer (application layer) with the result that the use of programmable material (hardware) is not necessary. Project “DIOSKOURI” within the framework of the program “Human Networks” of the GSRT through the KTE of Thessaly. The aim was to disseminate knowledge related to both Network Infrastructure Technologies, as well as Advanced Network Services focused on Health, Local Government, e-Government and Military Applications.

Project “ARCHIMEDES” support of research teams at the TEI of Larissa funded by EPEAEK II entitled “RESOURCE MANAGEMENT TECHNIQUES FOR INCREASING THE CAPACITY OF MOBILE NETWORKS. (01/05/04 – 31/12/07)

WINNER/FP6-IST. The key objective of the WINNER project is to develop a totally new concept in radio access. This is built on the recognition that developing disparate systems for different purposes (cellular, WLAN, short-range access etc.) will no longer be sufficient in the future coverged Wireless World. This concept will be realised in the ubiquitous radio system concept. The vision of a ubiquitous radio system concept is providing wireless access for a wide range of services and applications across all environments, from short-range to wide-area, with one single adaptive system concept for all envisaged radio environments.
